Dear Valued NYSCMA Members, 
 
I know we are all busy managing the many challenges and opportunities of our business but believe it or not, it is time to start planning to attend our 2nd Joint Advertising and Circulation Conference and 93rd Annual Sales Conference of NYSCMA.  On behalf of the NYSCMA Officers and Directors, I am pleased to announce the 2009 conference will be held at the Canandaigua Inn On The Lake.  The conference is scheduled for Sunday, May 31st, starting with an elegant President’s Reception cruise on the lake, and ends Wednesday morning, June 3rd, with the Hot Ideas Breakfast. The President’s Reception will be held Tuesday night at the moonlit waters edge of Canandaigua Lake.  Our 2009 conference theme can be best said from the late President John F. Kennedy “Change is the Law of Life. And those who look only to the past or present are sure to miss the future”.  This theme was developed to highlight our need to embrace change in this fast paced industry of today and accentuate the host of speakers and panels messages.     
 
The Canandaigua Inn On The Lake is located “at water’s edge” in the world-famous Finger Lakes.  It is on the beautiful north shore of Canandaigua Lake; only nine miles from the New York State Thruway and 45 minutes from the Rochester Airport.  This tranquil setting is perfect for generating new ideas and inspiring creativity.  Attached are the registration form and a brochure from the hotel including all the amenities such as an indoor pool, fitness center and spa.  Other area attractions include: golf, fishing charters, scenic lake cruises, winery tours, thoroughbred racing, concerts, and antique/outlet shopping.
 
We have planned sessions with Publishers and industry experts to help us address some of the “Hot Topics” and biggest circulation opportunities as well as important changes, updates and news from ABC, NAA and NYNPA.  We can also network and share ideas from our fellow circulators from newspapers of all sizes. Our popular sales promotion winners will be announced at the Tuesday awards luncheon on the lakeside lawn this year.
